yufo Benelux, an innovative spin-off of the leading Belgian biotech company Living Technologies, is the brainchild of Paul Aerts, Koen De Koster and Filip Willocx.
yufo is inspired by the human right to healthy air ratified in 2022. With a clear mission in mind -"We bring pure air into your indoor life to make it a better place to live." - yufo is committed to putting this right into practice and improving the quality of life indoors.
Paul Aerts
Paul Aerts, the CEO and co-founder of yufo Benelux. With a rich career in automotive and as former general manager of Rinkven Golf Club, Paul understands better than anyone how nature, sports and well-being merge. His passion for a healthy living environment took on a new dimension when the right to clean air became a human right. At yufo, he now dedicates himself wholeheartedly to inspiring and convincing SMEs to get started with yufo for the well-being of their employees and customers.
Filip Willocx
Dr. Filip Willocx is a true pioneer in biotechnology with an impressive career spanning more than 15 years in the food industry, where he held various leadership roles. After a period as project engineer and product manager, he became co-founder and managing partner of Metatecta NV and Living Technologies in 2009.
Here he developed patented bioremediation applications with benign bacteria for indoor environments. With degrees in chemical and agricultural engineering, a doctorate in Applied Biological Sciences and a bachelor's degree in economics, Filip is a driving force behind yufo's innovations.
Koen
Koen De Koster, with a background in marketing and communications, has enjoyed a multifaceted career from journalism to copywriting and communications management.
He founded his first own company in 1995. His path crossed with that of Dr. Filip Willockx, which led to the founding of Living Technologies in 2013, focused on researching the application of benign bacteria indoors. From this research, and the resulting patents, was born BioOrg, which provides products and methods for the maintenance of large buildings and technical installations, with clients such as the Flemish Government and KBC Bank. To also reach smaller companies and individuals, Yufo Benelux was founded, with support from Antwerp investors.
